UAG
International Dimension
The
Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG) has always been distinguished
from other Mexican universities by its long fruitful participation
in international educational activities coordinated and supported
by the International Programs Office. UAG is recognized throughout
the world in the field of education because of its excellent academic
level and active involvement in the most relevant international
organizations such as IAUP (International Association of University
Presidents), OUI (Inter-American Organization for Higher Education),
UDUAL (Unión de Universidades de América Latina),
and GULERPE (Grupo Latinoamericano para el Estudio, Reforma y Perfeccionamiento
de la Educación Superior) among others. UAG is also involved
in study abroad organizations such as NAFSA (Association of International
Educators), COUNCIL (Council for International Education Exchange),
and AIEA (Association for International Education Administrators).
UAG has more than 100 cooperation agreements with universities in
18 countries, including North America, Latin America, Europe and
Asia.
Student and faculty exchanges are very active at UAG with close
to 500 participants every year. Among other outstanding features,
UAG has a school of medicine highly recognized worldwide with around
2000 international students where over 13,000 American physicians
have graduated in the past 30 years. Other key international UAG
activities are field trips and custom-made programs focused on specific
subjects requested by our international partners, involving over
300 students every year. To further its international dimension,
UAG has created the Center for Asian and Latin American Studies,
the Center for Canadian Studies, and the International Language
Center.
